"LEGEND OF ZELDA": RED CHU JELLY. (STRAWBERRY JAM)

This is a classic and tasty recipe for strawberry jam. It's sweet, tangy, and delicious - just like grandma on Outset Island used to make :) Goes great with the recipe for English Muffins.

LOOT: 2 CUPS

MATS.

2 cups fresh strawberries (about 1 1/2 lbs)

2 cups sugar

1 tbsp lemon juice

EQUIPMENT.

medium saucepan

knife

spatula

potato masher

fire

STRAT.

1.) Remove the greens from the strawberries and dice the fruit. Put into a medium saucepan.

2.) Add the sugar and lemon juice to the strawberries and mash with a potato masher until everything is combined and the fruit is relatively smooth with some chunks. Clean off the sides of the pan with a spatula (this is important so you don't burn any excess sugar)

3.) Over a medium flame, bring the strawberry mixture to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and simmer uncovered for about 20 minutes (or until the mixture thickens, you should feel a little resistance while stirring), scraping the sides and bottom of the pan with a spatula occasionally to prevent it from burning.

4.) Remove from heat and pour into canning jars (I personally have never canned, but here's a wiki on canning) or pour into tupperware if you plan on eating it within the next couple of days. If you choose to put it in tupperware, let it cool until it's room temperature, then cover and place in the fridge.
